Twitch: Fraudster cheated €47,400 in prize money on a quiz – touchingly thanks his father

On Twitch, the streaming group OTK hosts the quiz show “Schooled” around Mizkif. There, a scandal broke out in the Season 2 finale for $50,000: A player had cheated by looking up questions on his smartphone. He pleaded guilty, but only after he had already been caught on reddit by clever internet detectives.

How does the show work?

  • The way the show works is that a number of content creators are invited to Mizkif’s Twitch stream.
  • In the show, they then answer questions from a school subject. Classic “general school knowledge” is queried. More and more people are gradually leaving the show.
  • In the end, the winner of the final can pocket a large prize money.

Twitch streamer rejects €9.3 million deal – his viewers are stunned, shouting “do it!”

Story question will determine who takes home $50,000

How did the final go this time? In the finale of season 2 of “OKT Schooled” 2 content creators from gaming faced each other:

  • Phil “EE” Visu – He is a commentator on SMASH, Nintendo’s weird fighting game. The Smash scene has been connected since 2009, formerly as a player.
  • Emily “ExtraEmily” Xuechun Zhang, a Twitch streamer with around 900 average viewers. She prefers to show Mario on Twitch.

The final question was who wrote The Social Contract. EE correctly answered “Jean Rosseau” and scooped the $50,000 prize:

  • ExtraEmily looked a little disappointed into the camera, because she could have figured that out instead of guessing “Karl Marx”.
  • Mizkif shouted: EE clearly won, there can be no doubt about that.
  • EE jumped, danced, was overjoyed. Thanked his “motherfucking” father for taking the time to study history with “his boy.” He’ll call him right now – a touching scene.

Streamer says ‘he gave in to temptation’

Then what was the scandal? However, after EE’s victory, people on reddit had amassed evidence showing that EE appeared to have looked up some questions on his smartphone. The reflection of the phone could be seen in his glasses (reddit).

Some scammers have given themselves away through the reflection of a cheat in glasses.

After doubts were cast over his win, EE admitted on Twitter that he actually cheated on the quiz show. He said he gave in to “temptation.” He was “salty” because he felt unfairly treated during the tournament.

The confession:

Organizers react depressed, uncomprehending, indignant

What’s the reaction to that? It’s very different:

  • OTK founder Esfand thanked EE for confessing and said there was no bad blood between EE and the team.
  • MMORPG streamer Asmongold called EE “a piece of shit”, who admitted it, but only because he was caught.

  • Showmaster Mizkif, on the other hand, is apparently “not angry, just very, very disappointed”: he spontaneously announced in the Twitch chat that he would stop the show. He wants to put on a good show, but that’s just not possible (via dexterto).

The “loser” of the finals, ExtraEmily, will now receive the award.

This is behind it: With a show like this, in which the streamers participate “from home”, it is very likely that Google will be used to cheat. That’s the crux of any virtual quiz show. In the private sphere, too, there is always the suspicion that “someone is googling the answers”.

When it comes to so much money, the temptation is certainly higher:

Streamer thinks he’s super secretly cheating, but he’s forgetting a telltale detail
