Season 3 Radically Changes CoD Warzone’s Sniper Weapons – What’s Meta Now?

Season 3 of Call of Duty: Warzone brought extensive balance changes and the sniper weapons in particular have changed significantly. The formerly most powerful sniper rifles no longer put your enemies at a distance with a headshot. MeinMMO explains the changes and gives an initial assessment of what the new meta could be.

Smaller, mobile sniper rifles like the popular Kar 98k from CoD MW no longer have the ability to headshot enemies at all ranges. This is reserved for the big sniper weapons.

At what distances do the guns land headshots? For an overview, we first show you the weapons in the individual headshot categories:

3. No one shot headshots

Tier 1 weapons now only give you one-shot headshots if you land the hit in the first area of ​​damage. The range values ​​of the individual sniper rifles are now much more important.

It’s good to see the more mobile, faster guns now running out of steam at around 50 yards. Only the Pelington stands out with a range of almost 70 meters.

Which sniper weapons are now meta? A completely reliable statement cannot be made so shortly after the start of the season. But especially in the Battle Royale on Caldera, the sniper weapons with a limited range are likely to lose popularity.

“JGOD” sees the HDR (MW) in front on Caldera, but wouldn’t be surprised if the ZRG (CW) or the three-line rifle (VG) also play at the front. This gives a strong option for 3 CoDs that Warzone shares guns with.

Aggressive and mobile players will probably continue to rely on the faster variants on Caldera. 50 meters is still a strong range for headshots. The Pelington should end up in the loadouts more often with its 20 meters more.

Rebirth Island remains to be seen how players will react to the adjustments. On the small island, the battle distances are often not quite as high and the old meta hits Kar 98k and Schweizer K31 could continue to dominate.

But even here the chances are good that the Pelington will get the trick.
