The sci-fi role-playing game Starfield is scheduled for release later this year, and the release for the Xbox Series X/S and PC is eagerly awaited. But although we will be able to play the title as early as November, at least according to the planned date, very little is known about the latest work from Bethesda.

Among other things, at the beginning of April there was a look at the first official Starfield NPC, but beyond that the team does not let much look into the cards regarding the status of the game. Exactly that has now changed at least a little, because in the Resetera forum a former developer reported under the username “Hevy008” and commented on the current status of the game. In the post that has since been deleted, but still in various videos and screenshots it says:

“It was a great place to work, very safe. The engine is a piece of s***. Todd is a charismatic guy. Starfield looks good […] more and more stuff is coming online. Shooting feels ok, flying is cruel at the moment, at least in my opinion, I just don’t enjoy it. The lighting and stuff just keeps looking better and better and while it’s not on the level of Horizon Forbidden West, it’s still a nice looking game. […]”

First of all: is it sure that this is really a developer? Pretty, yes. Because none other than a Bloomberg journalist and industry insider Jason Schreier confirmed in the same forumthat the user Hevy008 is a former character artist from Bethesda.

This trailer featured the first alpha scenes from the Starfield engine last year:

Starfield is said to have no shortage of content

Even if these are personal assessments, some of his descriptions sound rather sobering, especially the comments on the engine and the flight aspect of Starfield. And while it’s not really clear which version Hevy008 is referring to, it appears to be a fairly recent build of the game, given that it’s apparently been just under a week since the developer left Bethesda.

He also commented on the release of the game:

“Will it be ready in time? Well, they will definitely try […] they have an oversupply of content, maybe too much, so that’s not the problem. Finding the fun and bux fixing are obviously the big things.”

In the summer there will also be a beta of the game, where the image of the game will “be clearer”, according to the ex-developer. Such a beta would also fit well with the just announced Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. It is not unlikely that the title will be presented there in detail.

Huge XboxBethesda showcase will take place in June - probably with more information about Starfield and Co.

This is Starfield

Starfield is Bethesda Softworks’ first standalone new role-playing game franchise in over 25 years, following The Elder Scrolls. Behind the title is a space single-player role-playing game. Starfield is playfully referred to by its developers as “Skyrim in space”. In a recent video, the composers of the soundtrack comment on the relevance of the music in the game.

Starfield is scheduled for release on November 11, 2022, the game will be released for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
