New MMORPG relies on realistic weather system and each nation reacts differently

In the sandbox MMORPG Fractured there will be a detailed system around temperatures and weather. Temperature is said to affect gameplay and is felt differently by each playable race. This system has now been introduced in more detail and is well received by many players. Instead, they bother about other things.

What exactly does the temperature system in Fractured look like?

• The temperatures in Fractured are said to depend on various factors, including day and night, the weather, but also the biome itself. If you walk through a forest, for example, you can expect different temperatures than at the sea or in the desert.
• Each biome also has a weather cycle that is run through. This can lead to storms, thunderstorms or even a blizzard.
• If a character gets too cold, they get a “Chilled” debuff. If he is warm, he gets the “Warm” effect. Stacks are accumulated over time. The developers do not reveal exactly what the stacks do with you. However, the buffs and debuffs can be removed if you are hit by a fireball, for example. You should also be able to injure yourself with your own fireball in order to lose the chilled debuff.
• Your tolerance of temperatures depends on the playable race on the one hand, but also on the clothing worn on the other. The developers have also published a table that shows that armor made of cloth warms more than armor made of leather or iron:

Is the system already implemented? Partly. With the patch on April 27th, the temperature system was officially introduced in the closed beta.

However, the weather effects are still missing and will only be implemented in the coming weeks.

How are players reacting to this? The new system for temperatures and weather is generally well received. It brings new depth to the gameplay:

• The user Manjmau writes something like: “This is exciting! I love it when games build climate and temperature into games. That makes the survival aspect even more interesting.”
• Backwardspellcaster is also enthusiastic: “Damn, I love the weather aspect. It changes how the world looks. The game arouses my interest more and more.”

The user lebrow also sees the system positively. However, he is very bothered by a completely different point:

The graphics and Gamigo, which were presented as a publisher earlier this year, are seen as criticisms of Fractured. Because all in all, the game comes with some interesting and sometimes even innovative ideas.

What game is Fractured? The sandbox MMORPG relies on an iso perspective and rather weak graphics. But it has a very special concept in dealing with PvP. At release there will be three different races playing in different worlds:

• If you play a beastman, you live on a planet with only PvE content.
• If you choose a human, you get a planet with restricted PvP and a karma system for griefers.
• When you play a demon, you enter a world that is all about PvP. The focus here is on constant action and full loot.
• Each planet has its own biomes, assets, and customized geography. It will be possible to switch between the worlds, but this is subject to severe limitations.

Otherwise, Fractured relies on a system without classes and instead offers you various talents that you can unlock and distribute as you wish. This free play should work without a dull grind from the same content over and over again.

In the endgame, a lot should revolve around crafting, bosses in PvE and the expansion of cities in PvP.
