MeinMMO is looking for an author (m/f/d) in the home office for MMORPGs

We are looking for reinforcements in our team of authors. You can now apply for a job at MeinMMO to write news, specials and opinions on MMORPGs independently from your home office.

Who we are looking for: You should have a good understanding of gaming, especially online gaming and MMORPGs. You should feel comfortable in gaming communities and be willing to familiarize yourself with new games as well as general topics.

After that we look:

• You always know which MMORPG has a major update coming up.
• You enjoy getting people excited about new games.
• You are interested in what moves the players and where problems are in the games.
• You also have your own opinion or can familiarize yourself deeply with a game.
• You are familiar with reddit, twitter, discord and official forums to keep you informed.
• You are willing to reflect on criticism of your work, accept it and continue to develop your writing.
• You enjoy writing and have an interest in journalistic work.

It is an advantage if you already have experience: Your own blog, your own streaming channel or work for another website could be included. But this is not a requirement for the position.

We would like to fill the position as quickly and efficiently as possible. Maybe with you.

That’s the job

You will become part of our editorial team and help to design our reporting on MMORPG. We are grateful for suggestions and input on how we can improve them. It is important to us that you put the readers first and that you consider which articles are really interesting and important for our readers.

The task field:

• You write articles on MMORPGs in general (news, lists, analyses, opinions, community interviews) and can also help out with a guide to specific games.
• You search independently for exciting topics that you implement as an article. Here you get support from the editors.
• You deal with analysis tools like Google Trends to see what the community is really interested in right now. You don’t need any prior knowledge here. The editors can provide you with this information.
• You agree with the editors which articles you want to write
• You accept assignments from the editors on the subject of MMORPGs
• You will receive feedback on your articles from the editors and implement them accordingly
• You can optionally take part in workshops that we offer in the field of online and gaming journalism

who we are

MeinMMO was founded in September 2013. Since March 2016 we are part of Webedia Gaming. We continue to maintain an independent editorial team, with most working from their home offices. We draw on the resources at our headquarters in Munich, where the GameStar editorial team is also based. Both GameStar and MeinMMO and GamePro are part of the Webedia Gaming GmbH.

MeinMMO now reaches over 3 million unique users per month, most recently in January 2021 with a record of 3.36 million according to agof. Within just a few years, the site has established itself as one of the largest German games websites, alongside GameStar.de and GamePro.de.

The focus of MeinMMO is on popular service games that have been developed over the years and played together online. These include titles such as Call of Duty: Warzone and Cold War, World of Warcraft, The Elder Scrolls Online, Lost Ark, Final Fantasy XIV, GTA Online, Fortnite or FIFA 21.

When is the job for? From now on.

For how many hours is the job? 20 hours a week, with flexible working hours. Optionally, more hours are possible.
