Former GTA boss is working on new MMO - Should be "real Ready Player One".

Former Rockstar producer Leslie Benzies is currently working on a game called Everywhere with his new studio. Now more information about the project has surfaced.

What kind of game is this? The title Everywhere made headlines some time ago when Leslie Benzies and his new studio Build a Rocket Boy Games raised $42 million to fund the project.

Back then, Everywhere was advertised as a “massive open-world game” that was basically meant to take inspiration from everywhere and that wanted to offer real freedom. But not much was known.

Now a few new details have surfaced.

Who is Leslie Benzies? Leslie Benzies has long worked as a producer at Rockstar and accompanied several games, some in managerial positions. Among other things, he was involved in GTA III – V, Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire and Max Payne 3.

Everywhere is the first project from his new company Build a Rocket Boy Games, which also features several former GTA employees.

Open world, multiplayer and story are on board

This is now known: in one Portfolio of investor Galaxy Interactive there is a small overview of “Everywhere”, which shows in more detail what kind of game you can probably count on.

Everywhere is said to be a AAA open-world game that wants to offer a multiplayer experience including a multi-level, epic story.

The players should also play a creative role. The concept speaks of a “virtual sandbox” in which players should create their own worlds. In addition, social and streaming elements are included.

The term “Real-life Ready Player One” is also mentioned.

What is Ready Player One? Ready Player One is a 2018 film based on the 2011 science fiction novel of the same name. The focus of the story is the so-called “Oasis”, an online world in which players can basically be whatever they want.

You log in there via virtual reality and escape completely into this world. Which, in turn, is packed with missions and challenges, from car racing to full-blown shooters. People take on an avatar there according to their wishes – in the film the concept offered a lot of room for cameo appearances from the gaming world and other pop culture.

What does this mean for the game? The concept of the Oasis would fit in with the great freedom of “Everywhere” and the aspect that it should get inspiration from everywhere.

In addition, on the game site spoken of that there is a war between good and evil, everything is changing and a new world lies ahead. The players should help shape these.

“You, the players, are an integral part of the creation, growth and future of EVERYWHERE,” it says. “Our journey together begins when you register with EVERYWHERE. Over time, through the challenges on the site and in the game, your player will evolve and your place in EVERYWHERE will become clear”.

What exactly is behind it and when the game will appear – that is still open.
