The e-sports organization FaZe is hosting a kind of “Big Brother” house on Twitch to determine which talented content creators are allowed to join the clan and receive around 1.2 million euros in the signing bonus alone. But talent is dropping out in droves – they have Covid.
What’s this about?
- FaZe Clan is the richest and largest esports organization in the world. These are not classic e-sports people, but rather content creators who started as trick shooters in Call of Duty on YouTube and are now huge in gaming and also have some e-sports teams running. - The clan launched a new show on Twitch “FaZe Warhouse” on May 5th. The show was supposed to be broadcast 24 hours a day for 15 days: 20 streamers from all over the world were playing in the show and had a chance to join FaZe Clan and win a lot of money. In order to belong to this “Top 20” you first had to go through an admissions process.

Well-known Twitch streamers have tried with all their might to sue themselves out of a contract with FaZe.

Covid is thwarting the talents
This goes wrong: The streamers depend on each other like in “Big Brother”: The clan has rented an old department store: The candidates take over the stream and compete in games against each other.
But as FaZe Clan announced, three candidates were disqualified on May 7 because they contracted the Covid virus. They are replaced by 2 other talents.
Who is hit particularly hard? Little Twitch streamer Ernsto (25,000 followers on Twitch) bursts into tears when telling about his disqualification.
He thanks everyone who supported him and is heartbroken that he has now missed his big chance. But now he had to realize that his time had not come after all.

This is the discussion now: FaZe Clan is now being criticized for the show. It is said that protocols should be provided for such cases:
