Rumor: This actor almost starred in Dr. Played Strange 2!
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is not only unsurprisingly an absolute hit at the box office and continues the wave of success of the last Marvel blockbuster Spider.Man: No Way Home, but it also brings several new characters to the multiverse MCU.
Spoiler alert: Below we are talking about a character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which has not yet been revealed by trailers. So be warned!
If you all cameos and shock moments, we recommend our spoiler article. Film fans who still have a visit to the cinema ahead of them should first turn to our spoiler-free review. Because in Doctor Strange 2 there were some surprises that you certainly don’t want to spoil beforehand.
My name is Bond: Daniel Craig in Doctor Strange 2?
This also includes the various appearances of surprising characters from other universes. Right at the forefront: The Illuminati, a group of high-ranking superheroes who, of course, are dedicated to the peace of the multiverse. In fact, the occupation of the Illuminati as seen in the film wasn’t always planned that way.
Was a member of the Illuminati in Doctor Strange 2 Richard Reeds aka Mr Fantastic, played by John Krasinski. Like Deadline journalist Justin Kroll now on twitter revealed, but Daniel Craig was originally intended for this part and only because of the corona pandemic did you have to spontaneously come up with something else:
“Fun Fact: Krasinski wasn’t the first choice. The actor who was initially cast for the role was already filming ready, but then COVID cases picked up and he withdrew as he was living in London and felt that getting admitted quickly wasn’t worth the risk of spreading COVID to one’s family.”
“For those wondering why he was able to take part in the recording of Knives [Out] to participate: That was months of recordings and if he had gotten COVID there he would be the only one infected. [Doctor] strange [in the Multiverse of Madness] was maybe a day of recording and the concern was that he might come back home not knowing he has it and giving it to his daughter who was only two at the time.”
In fact, in Kroll’s remarks, it sounds as if Daniel Craig to play the role of Mr. Fantastic. But other sources are sure: Craig would be as Balder the Brave, Thor’s half-brother, appeared as an Illuminati member in place of Mr. Fantastic. Allegedly, Bruce Campbell was also in talks for this role, but he can only be seen in the film as a pizza seller.
Industry insider HeavySpoilers also explained on twitterthat Balder the Brave was replaced by Mr. Fantastic as an Illuminati member, allowing Kraig to be replaced by Krasinski: “Craig was originally supposed to have acted as Balder the Brave as part of the Illuminati. He should have been influenced into a suicide by Wanda. But then he couldn’t take part in the recording and was replaced by Krasinski.”
