Elden Ring: Report hints at plans for expansion

Elden ring is the big highlight of the games year so far. For weeks the latest prank has been supplying us Dark Souls-Maker FromSoftware with new stories and hardly any other game generates as much attention.

FromSoftware is a subsidiary of Kadokawa. They have theirs now financial report presented for the past fiscal year. This shows how surprising the success of “Elden Ring” was even for the parent company. In addition, it is about the future planning spoken of the title.

Elden Ring: Exceeded all expectations

The report shows what expectations were attached to “Elden Ring” in the year before the release. So the Japanese company went by about 4 million units sold and one Sales volume from 1.3 to 1.8 billion yen, which corresponds to around 9.6 to 13.5 million euros. Shortly before the release, this expectation was even raised again 900 million yen (approx. 6.7 million euros).

In the almost three months since the release, a total of about 13.4 million copies sold by “Elden Ring”. So the expectations were more than tripled. The profit from this is approx 5.2 billion yenso more than five times as much as previously assumed.
