Elden Ring: Underworld with all regions, entrances and how to exit

the Underworld in Elden Ring is a second level of the in-between that exists completely separate from the overworld.

It consists of several separate areas that are optional to explore. You don’t have to set foot in these subterranean realms to complete the game, but of course it’s worth it.

Without access to the underground, you’re missing out on a significant portion of the game, some really awesome bosses, lots of useful items, and more.

In the following guide we will show you how to get into the subterranean areas of the Elden Ring and what awaits you there.

Areas in the Underworld of Elden Ring

Below the normal world map is a second level that you cannot see at first. Even after finding various parts of the map, you only have access to the landscape of the overworld.

The texture of the underworld in Elden Ring is at times breathtaking.

Only when you have found and entered one of the underground areas can you switch between the above and below ground representation on the world map by pressing the right stick.

  • The underworld regions have their own map fragments that you can find to reveal the details of the environment.
  • In some underground regions you can summon and ride Stormwind.
  • Switch between the two levels of the world map by pressing R3 (the right stick) and you can fast travel to an above-ground place of grace.

Siofra

The Siofra is an underground river that runs between Limgrave and Caelid. Access is via an elevator and the area has a magnificent night sky full of stars, as if the area were outdoors.

  • access via: Fountain at Siofra in East Limrave (in the Cloud Forest next to the Lesser Earth Tree)
  • Alternate Access: Deep Well of Siofra in Caelid (only available after traversing Siofra once and unlocking the northeast elevator)
  • Stormwind usable: Yes
  • Connected to other areas:
  • Bosses at Siofra (and vicinity):

    depths of deeproot

The Depths of Deeproot extend beneath the royal capital of Leyndell on the Altus Plateau. They are a composite of vast roots centered on the Nameless Eternal City.

    • access via: The coffin after the boss fight against Brave Gargoyle in the aqueduct at Siofra.
    • Alternate Access: Via a secret wall on the lowest level of the Cathedral of the Lost (diagonally across from the place of mercy “Outlaw the Raging Flame”, see Hyetta’s quest)
    • Stormwind usable: Yes
    • Connected to other areas: no

    Mohgwyn Palace and the Mausoleum

Mohgwyn Palace and the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum are in close proximity to, but not accessible from, the Siofra area. It’s a desolate area with tough enemies, a central blood lake, and some worthwhile rune farming spots.

If you are looking for powerful allies, it makes sense to collect the ashes. The localities of the weapons are recommended for more clout.
