Epic Games has introduced a new V-Bucks sharing option for Fortnite. The Fortnite wallet is now also available on PS4 and PS5.

Cary, North Carolina – V-Bucks are an expensive commodity in Fortnite. Of course, if you want to play the game on multiple platforms, you don’t want to keep spending money on new V-Bucks. Now that Season 3 of Chapter 3 is just around the corner, Epic Games wants to accommodate the fans a little bit. The developer has also unlocked PlayStation consoles for the Fortnite shared wallet with the latest update.

Fortnite: Shared Wallet Now on PlayStation – Manage V-Bucks Almost Anywhere

What is the Fortnite Shared Wallet? The Fortnite wallet has been available on PC, Xbox and smartphones for some time. As part of Fortnite’s cross-save capabilities, it allows players to manage V-Bucks purchased on one platform on other devices and spend them there in the item shop. New in Fortnite’s item shop is the Zuri skin, which fans can continue to help shape in a contest. Since the release of update 20.40 on May 17, 2022, the shared wallet now also supports Sony PlayStation consoles.

How to use V-Bucks now? So far, fans have had to use their V-Bucks for Fortnite on the PS4 and PS5 separately from other platforms. It was therefore not possible to use V-Bucks purchased on a PlayStation with the same “Epic Games” account on other devices – or vice versa. With the inclusion of PlayStation in the shared wallet, V-Bucks can be managed across all devices except the Nintendo Switch. The only requirement is that the player’s PSN account is linked to their corresponding Epic Games account.

Epic Games has captured a handy infographic on how players can manage their V-Bucks in Fortnite across platforms. Only the Nintendo Switch is the only console that does not yet have the Fortnite Shared Wallet integrated.

Fortnite: More bug fixes and content from update 20.40

What else is new in update 20.40? On May 17, at 10 a.m. German time, the Fortnite servers went offline for maintenance work. Since those are over, Fortnite update 20.40 is available for all players to download. In addition to the integration of PS4 and PS5 for the shared wallet, Epic Games has brought the Sideways weapons back into the game and made various bug fixes. According to a leaker, the development studio from Cary, North Carolina, should also start a collaboration with the Disney series Obi-Wan Kenobi, but there is still no trace of this in the game.
