Around 7 p.m. and probably until 9 p.m., the Arma Party on Twitch, then developer Bohemia Interactive would like to give an outlook on how Arma will continue in the future. There are now more information snippets about the Arma Reforger that has already been leaked alongside Arma 4.

Arma Reforger for PC only?

PCGH already reported on the first leaks of Arma 4 and Arma Reforger at the weekend. A new offshoot of the series, Arma Reforger, was brought into play for the first time via allegedly leaked marketing material. In contrast to an Arma 4, the title is “more focused” and is intended to “introduce Arma to a new, console-oriented audience” with a “very strong multiplayer focus” that will “test new technologies and design decisions that will form the basis of Arma form 4”. It seemed certain that Arma Reforger would also be released for consoles.

But new information by Tech4gamers shakes this assumption. There is already an age rating by the ESRB, which, similar to the USK (but less binding), rates computer games according to their suitability for children and young people. What is interesting about the assessment is that so far it has only been made for Windows PCs. This does not fundamentally rule out a release on console, because it could simply take place later. It is confirmed by the assessment that it is a first-person shooter in an alternative Cold War scenario. Players “move through areas fighting enemy factions/soldiers for control of strategic points”. It uses pistols, rifles, grenades, and vehicle-mounted machine guns “to kill enemies in realistic combat.”

From 2001 to 2005, Bohemia developed several titles from the well-known Operation Flash Point series before switching to Armed Assault in 2006. arma 3 was released in September 2013, since then the main game has been expanded by a large number of DLCs, most recently in July 2019. At the end of 2021, the enfusion engine was presented, which is intended to provide the technical basis for future Arma games. Arma 4 is said to be based on any engine. We’ll find out more from 7 p.m.
