The Valiant: New real-time strategy game with a medieval setting
Tactic title and very special Real Time Strategy Games have struggled with declining public interest in recent years, but real strategy pearls keep making it onto the battlefield of the video game industry. We also present ten titles for passionate hobby generals in our buying guide.
Whether it’s the newly announced The Valiant also put on such a list is of course not up for debate at the moment. The real-time strategy title that seems like you’ve delved into the depths of games like Company of Heroes or Iron Harvest medieval offset, but makes a promising first appearance.
Two brothers in arms on the test: A fight for the fate of mankind ensues
The announcement was made today by THQ Nordic, who take on the role of publisher, while the development studio Kite Games is responsible for the development of The Valiant. Next to one announcement video they also published one Gameplay trailerso that you can already get a first impression of the game’s real-time battles.
The focus of medieval history is the former crusader Theodoric von Akenburg. After Theodoric, together with his brother in arms Ulrich von Grevel, finds part of the ancient artifact Aaron’s staff, a race against time ensues: Ulrich lusts for power and wants to find the remaining parts of the weapon, which is dangerous for all of mankind, while Theodoric opposes his former comrade-in-arms got to.
As already mentioned, the fight for the good of mankind is going on in realtime away. You have many different units at your disposal, such as swordsmen and cavalries, which you lead into battle as teams to destroy your opponents. Hero skills can be customized just like weapons and gear, so you can plan your approach as you prepare.
off the single player campaign Strategy fans can look forward to two more modes: The so-called “Last Man Standing” mode lets you fight with up to three players against a flood of opponents. A classic, cooperative Horde mode, in which you gradually become stronger and unlock new skills and items. You can also compete against other players on the leaderboard and earn special rewards.

The Valiant is scheduled for “soon” for the PC, the PlayStation 4 and 5, and the Xbox One and Xbox Series appear. Until a specific release date is revealed and The Valiant marches onto the battlefield, you can already make clever plans for chasing the dangerous artifact away from Ulrich and protecting humanity from his greed for power.
