A record jackpot of over 100 million lures on Friday

For the first time in Germany there is a jackpot of over 100 million euros to be won. With this, the European lottery crosses this magical threshold.

Millionaire and big wins on Tuesday

In the draw on Tuesday (May 17), no player in the 18 European partner countries of the Eurojackpot lottery was able to win first place. Nevertheless, there is a millionaire: A player from North Rhine-Westphalia won 1,534,087.90 euros in second place. He was only missing one more correct euro number to crack the jackpot. The right game order was given in Münsterland, in the district of Coesfeld. In the 13th draw of the current jackpot period, the winning numbers 2, 13, 41, 45 and 50 as well as the two euro numbers 2 and 3 were determined.

In the third prize category there are three more big prizes. 288,384.70 euros each go to Brandenburg, Hesse and again North Rhine-Westphalia. This means that all top prizes in the draw on May 17 go to Germany.

100th jackpot phase with mega record jackpot

Since prize category 1 remained vacant again, the jackpot has now reached the three-digit million range for the first time since the product change at the end of March. A jackpot sum of around 106 million euros has never before been won in a lottery in Germany. By the end of March 2022, the jackpot was capped at 90 million euros. Now it can rise to up to 120 million euros.

There is also a small anniversary to coincide with this record jackpot: the current jackpot phase is the 100th since the lottery started in March 2012. In the 99 previous jackpot phases there were a total of 120 players who received a jackpot. In 14 draws there were multiple hits in the first rank; Single winner in 85 jackpot phases.

Chance of the jackpot

Many Eurojackpot tippers are now eagerly awaiting the upcoming drawing on Friday (May 20). Who will have the correct seven numbers in the game formula 5aus50 and 2aus12 on their ticket? The chance of winning first place is 1 in 140 million.
