Lost Ark Brings Huge May Patch – But One Small Change Excites Players Most

The new May patch has been released in Lost Ark. It brought many innovations and adjustments. But instead of cheering for the new class or the new raids, the players celebrate a supposedly small detail. You can now equip two accessories with the same name.

What makes the change so special? In reddit and in the official forum, a sentence from the patch notes for the May update is very often praised:

Two accessories with the same name can now be equipped at the same time.

Because until now you needed two different accessories with the same stats as possible – after all, you want to improve exactly these special values.

In reddit, many users write that they have often bought an item in the auction house but could not create it because they already owned it. This step should also be important for future Legendaries, say the players:

• Xeredth is currently the top comment on the patch notes on reddit. He writes: “Oh really beautiful! I didn’t expect that to change here now.”
• TehMephs says, “I can’t count the number of times I’ve bought a part from the AH and then realized my devastating mistake. That it was the same name and I couldn’t equip it. So many pheons vanished into thin air.”
• User GimmeDemApples1 even says it was “one of the most important changes ever” in the update.

But even apart from this small change, there is a lot of praise for the patch.

Lots of “Quality of Life” changes that came much later in Korea

What else do the players praise? Basically everything. The user Brandonspikes, for example, emphasizes that we received a number of “Quality of Life” changes, some of which took months and years in Korea. Especially compared to Japan and Russia, these changes are said to have been quickly brought to the western version.

User Ekanselttar also quips, “This isn’t a Legion raid release with a few QoL changes, it’s a Quality of Life patch with a bonus raid.”

In addition to the accessories, highlights of these changes are:

• A new dungeon menu that lists all available dungeons and raids
• The game now tells you in the UI whether you are attacking enemies from the side or from behind
• The auction house got new and better search options and a display for Pheons
• New character appearance options
• Several improvements to your own island
• Shortcuts have been added to the Warden maps Frosthaven and Mistridge

In addition, there are the big innovations such as the Legion Raid, the new Guardian Raid, the difficult mode for the Chaos Lines and new activities in South Vern.

Another highlight for many is the new Destroyer class, also released today.

There are quite a few hidden changes, but not all are good

What else have players found out about the patch? in one thread on reddit currently undocumented and hidden changes are collected. There are also some positive surprises here.

For example, there is an adjustment in Chaos Dungeons that bosses now spawn closer to you or run towards you faster, which is a welcome change. There have also been adjustments to the UI, so that the loot pop-ups in chaos dungeons are now smaller and the group interface can be adjusted.

What do players not like? Relationship levels have been removed from Sasha and Ealyn. With both NPCs, the highest affection leads to an erotic scene. The players are now wondering whether the West is too prudish for such scenes (via reddit).

The new skins are only partially well received. While the Destroyer’s sets don’t look bad, many players generally want more skins and ways to customize their looks.

There are also discussions about the balance, because the adjustments are correct for the meta in Korea. Since there are more classes there than here, not all changes make sense.
