In Leipzig in 2023 there should finally be a big gaming bash again.

If you live in Leipzig and the surrounding area, you should mark the date in red in your calendar: Next year, CAGGTUS will finally be a big gaming event again, almost a festival. In addition to all sorts of programs, a huge LAN party is also to be held and the spectacle will run for a full three days.

LAN in Leipzig: Dream Hack is dead, long live Caggtus

The Dream Hack in Leipzig only took place online in 2021 and not at all this year. The huge event is history in Leipzig and will probably not return in its previous form. But slowly there is a silver lining on the horizon and it goes by the curious name of Caggtus. The event or its organizers apparently want to follow in the footsteps of Dreamhack and start something of their own.

This is Caggtus: A three-day event with festival character is planned. The main aim here is to gamble, but also to stream and celebrate. The whole thing is divided into three areas: A gigantic LAN party (with an age limit of 18 years and over), a streaming area and an entertainment area full of interactivity. Plans include a cosplay contest, an event stage with a program including talk shows, panels and more, as well as show matches and a VR area, of course.

If you want to take part in the LAN party, including the lounge, hardware rental, bar and competitions, you can even arrive the day before. In the past, many fans have apparently always wished for this in vain, so that they could set up their playground in peace and be able to set up their own setup.

What’s that name? This is an allusion to the cactus, which has become a kind of unofficial mascot of the Dream Hack-LAN over the past few years and LAN parties. The two large G letters in the middle should also stand for the well-loved abbreviation GG (which in turn means Good Game).
