Xbox Series X: New Xbox and PlayStation 5 Pro in 2024 says TCL

TCL Technology assumes that a new Xbox and PlayStation 5 Pro will be launched in 2023/2024.

In a recent conference, TCL Technology said they expect a new Xbox Series X/S and a new PlayStation 5 Pro console to launch in 2023/2024.

Piers Harding-Rolls of Ampere Analysis told VGCthat he thinks the schedule is realistic, but that the low availability of current PS5 consoles could push the date back.

“I’m not assuming this is based on specific, concrete product knowledge, but it’s a reasonable estimate of when an updated PS5 could hit the market (3+ years from launch),” the analyst said.

“However, the low availability of the PS5 and therefore slower than expected console adoption will likely impact this timeframe. As such, I think it’s more likely that a mid-cycle upgrade won’t appear until late 2024 at the earliest.”
