The Callisto Protocol: Horror game is no longer part of the PUBG universe

The upcoming horror game The Callisto Protocol will not be set in the PUBG universe as originally planned.

The horror game The Callisto Protocol, developed by Striking Distance Studios, was supposed to be set in the same universe as the popular battle royale shooter PUBG, albeit 300 years in the future.

Those plans have now been shelved, as per Striking Distance CEO Glen Schofield Twitter announces. He explained that The Callisto Protocol has grown into its own world and will therefore take place outside of the PUBG universe. Fans would still expect some small surprises though:

“FYI, @CallistoTheGame has its own story and world. It no longer takes place in the PUBG universe. It was originally part of the PUBG timeline but grew into a world of its own. PUBG is great and we will still have little surprises for fans, but TCP has its own world, story and universe.”
