Elden Ring: Video shows edited content

Elden Ring: Einige Spieler haben den Titel bereits erhalten und teilen Spoiler im Internet

There is probably no one who can explain Souls lore better and in a more pleasant voice than VaatiVidya. His new video shows content that will be available in Elden Ring (from 50.99 at buy) didn’t make it into the final game.

Elden Ring is unquestionably a scale monster that few players under 100 hours of play will unleash. Of course, with such a mammoth project, some game content and ideas fall victim to the scissors. That was also the case with Elden Ring.

Vaati shows what was lost

In his current video, Souls YouTuber VaatiVidya sheds light on which parts of the Elden Ring ended up under the editing table and – with the help of a few other YouTubers who are more skilled in data mining than he is – reveals quest lines and game mechanics that are not so in the game show up more. It’s not about negligible little things, many of the deleted features would have offered a clear added value.

Collectable dreams, mimic questline and more

An extremely interesting feature, which is explained in detail in the video, is collecting dreams of sleeping opponents. In possession of a certain container, it should be possible for the player to get a new resource that can be used to do wondrous things. We’ll probably never find out exactly what that is, but the approach to this idea sounds fascinating. Vaati goes on to say that the fight against the Mimic-Tear was actually part of a dreamy, beautiful quest line that the players unfortunately didn’t get to see. The prelude to fighting one’s own doppelganger would have lent much more weight to the confrontation.
