Star Wars is really picking up steam right now and there’s no end in sight. On the contrary: the many different projects should also support each other. Such as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and the Disney Plus series Obi-Wan Kenobi. There are some indications that we could even expect a crossover here.

Star Wars appears to be preparing crossovers for Obi-Wan and Jedi: Survivor

That’s what it’s about: Recently, the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was officially unveiled. It’s called Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, takes place five years after the events of the first part and is scheduled for release in 2023. There are some indications that there are connections between the new Respawn game and the current Disney Plus series about Obi-Wan Kenobi. And by that we don’t just mean that both are part of the Star Wars franchise.

Crossover coming? Chances are there could be a cameo by Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Jedi: Survivor game or, conversely, by Cal Kestis in the Disney Plus series. At least that’s what a lot of fans now believe, even if there hasn’t been any confirmation so far. However, the following indications speak in favor of the crossover theories:

  • Both play at the same time: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place five years after Jedi: Fallen Order and thus ten years after the third part of the prequel trilogy. The Obi Wan series is set in exactly the same period.
  • Cal Kestis appears in book: Another cameo by Cal Kestis from the Star Wars Jedi games was recently confirmed in a book about Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi (via: Twitter). It’s not much, but he’s at least mentioned in the novel Star Wars: Brotherhood.
  • Ewan McGregor’s statements: Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actor explained that care must be taken to ensure that the storylines of the games and those of the films or series fit together. That also sounds suspiciously like a connection (via: YouTube).
  • Content and story fit perfectly: Obi-Wan Kenobi, in his own series, helps Jedis fleeing the Empire and the Inquisition after Order 66 – which is exactly what Cal Kestis is. Additionally, fans have also spotted the Inquisitors’ Fortress in a trailer for the Disney series (via: ScreenRant).

Of course, all of this doesn’t necessarily mean that we really can expect a corresponding crossover including cameo appearances. But it would be quite surprising if all of this was really just a coincidence. In any case, we don’t believe in it and are eagerly awaiting the new Obi-Wan Kenobi episodes and of course Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Do you also think a crossover is likely and how would you like to see it implemented?
