Switch Online: New N64 update is here, fixes bug in Kirby 64
As announced, Nintendo has released a new update for the N64 app on the Nintendo Switch.
With this, the company fixes an annoying bug in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards that prevented players from continuing to play.
Play Kirby without problems
The bug was discovered shortly after the release of Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards on Nintendo Switch Online. In the past few days, Nintendo had announced that it would release a patch for it this week.
Version 2.3.1 now takes care of this problem, which caused Kirby to become unresponsive in certain places. In such situations, the only way to continue playing was to restart the level.

Nintendo does not provide patch notes, this is where Dataminer OatmealDome steps in again and provides technical details about the changes:
Technical details!
The bug may have originated in N’s AOT recompiler for MIPS -> aarch64, since the only files updated were the AOT .nro and .pcb.
Interestingly, switchbrew says the NRO isn’t used, but those were the only files changed (not even the emulator main executable).

In the past, there were already problems with several different N64 classics on Nintendo Switch Online, which were later solved later with a patch.
