In Fortnite there is a YouTuber who is one of the most successful and popular of the colorful Battle Royal Shooters. Standart Skill or Stanni entertains countless viewers with his massive amount of subscribers, but who is he exactly and what made him so successful? We’ll show you.
Who is Default Skill? default skill or Stanni, as he is called on YouTube, is called Philip Geißler, is a 28-year-old YouTuber and is one of the most successful and largest YouTubers for the “Battle Royal” shooter Fortnite.
His passion and perseverance as a web video producer has brought him 3.17 million subscribers to date (as of May 31). Stanni is known in his videos as a loud, bright and spirited entertainer. Despite his daily uploads of videos related to Fortnite, GTA 5 and other games, not much is known about the 28-year-old.
So we dug deep and found out what Stanni did before, what made him become a YouTuber and most importantly what else he does besides streaming and making videos.
From office clerk to Fortnite YouTuber
Before Standart Skill shot entertaining videos, he went to school and started an apprenticeship as an office clerk in the hospital in his home town of Neuruppin in northern Brandenburg. When this was completed, he switched to the retailer Real to work as an office clerk.
On the side, the avid video game fan kept YouTube running and sporadically posted videos of his non-facecam gameplay. Simple recordings of his skills, which he recorded from his Playstation, edited together and then uploaded.
When he first started playing Fortnite on October 27th, 2017, his career as a video producer was just beginning. Daily videos of his fights or general topics related to the colorful Battle Royal shooter were blessed with up to 3 million clicks.
Now the 28-year-old also used his face as an eye-catcher for his videos. Great emotions, followed by eye-catching thumbnails, are intended to attract new fans of the constantly growing Fortnite YouTuber.
When Standard Skill realized that the advertising revenue he received would bring him more than his work at Real, he focused primarily on YouTube and resigned from his office. From then on, he made YouTube his main source of income.

What is a standard skill? His talent for entertaining viewers with his euphoric demeanor has brought him many subscribers. But constant presence is also appreciated by the community. On his birthday and even Christmas, he puts videos together to entertain his fan base.

But the man from Neuruppin doesn’t just make music: He has also written two books with the titles – “Standard Skill – Voll Verglittcht!” and “Standard Skill – Verfluxt wieder mal!”. These books are all about an adventure involving the video game fan and a game in which he is trapped in the virtual world by a game bug.
Despite the fading Fortnite hype, Stanni is still there and reports on what’s happening in the colorful shooter. Hours of streams while the Fortnite servers are down after a live event keep his fans entertained until they can get back into a match.
