The Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi hit like a bomb with the start of the series on May 27, 2022 – this is demonstrated by the new record that the Disney + series has set. According to Disney, no other series on the platform had such a strong start weekend.
The first two episodes of the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi were released on May 27, 2022 – and never before have so many subscribers to the streaming service tuned in to the return of Ewan McGregor as a hermit on the desert planet Tatooine on a launch weekend. At least that’s what the official Star Wars Twitter account revealed. There they say thank you to the best fans in the galaxy:
Marvel series was previously the #1 series launch on Disney+
The record for this mega launch is made up of all the hours watched by viewers on the first weekend after the premiere. By that reckoning, Obi-Wan was able to depose the former king – The Falcon & The Winter Soldier. The Marvel series starring Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie will premiere in March 2021. By the way, a new film with Captain America will tie in with the events of the MCU series.

Which series can beat Obi-Wan Kenobi’s record?
It is questionable whether another series can break this record soon, although Disney has already announced many new projects. Starting August 31, 2022, the Rogue One series Andor will reveal more insights into the rebels’ fight against the Empire, ahead of the events of the Rogue One movie. The premiere of the series still has a promising chance Ahsoka, dedicated to the Clone Wars heroine, who made her live-action debut in Season 2 of The Mandalorian. But this project won’t start until 2023 on Disney+.
Three episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi are now available, the latest episode has been available since June 1, 2022. In total, the “series event” will only consist of six episodes – so we’re halfway through the story. What is your impression of the series? what do you like What do you not like?
