The next Nintendo Direct is said to be happening soon and it’s going to be big

Nintendo Direct has always meant hoping for Hollow Knight: Silksong for years.

After the Nintendo Direct is before the Nintendo Direct and the next event could be coming up soon. At least that’s what an insider assumes and that would also be a good time. On the one hand, E3 2022 will not take place regularly, but the Summer Games Fest will. On the other hand, Nintendo has regularly held its own streams at this time in the past to present games and more.

Nintendo could hold the next Direct again in mid-June

That’s what it’s about: Since 2011, Nintendo has regularly held the so-called Nintendo Direct presentations. It features new consoles like the Nintendo Switch, but often features gameplay videos and trailers as well. New announcements are usually part of the game, as is information about updates and more. The question is always: When will the next Nintendo Direct take place and what will be on display?

Nintendo Direct mid-June? This year, another Nintendo Direct could be held in mid-June. At least that is what the statements by the Nintendo leaker and usually very well-informed insider Samus Hunter suggest. According to her, a large, general Nintendo Direct is planned for mid-June. Possibly even on June 15th, but she doesn’t know the exact date yet.

Nintendo Direct instead of E3 2022 or Summer Game Fest

Also fits historically: That a Nintendo Direct will take place in mid-June sounds extremely realistic. Mainly because Nintendo has almost always held a corresponding show in mid-June in recent years, even if it was mostly officially part of E3. But since E3 2022 isn’t happening, everyone assumes that Nintendo will air its own independent Nintendo Direct that’s generic and doesn’t focus on specific individual titles or indies.

Not at Summer Game Fest? With E3 2022 cancelled, Summer Game Fest is becoming something of an alternative. But here, too, Nintendo shines with its absence. This also indicates that a separate Nintendo Direct should take place instead. The insider believes so too, according to which we don’t have to worry:

Also Sony and Microsoft hold their own shows. While both PlayStation and Xbox are also at Summer Game Fest, Microsoft has also announced a Microsoft and Bethesda Showcase for June 12th. Sony will hold its own State of Play tomorrow, which will primarily focus on PSVR 2 and third-party games. Another showcase may follow instead of the E3.

What could be shown? As with every Nintendo Direct in recent years, we are hoping for news about Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 or the Zelda BotW sequel and a shadow drop from Hollow Knight: Silksong. Both are theoretically possible, but none of them are certain.
