Obsidian on Xbox Showcase? Designer could hint appearance

From the looks of it, Obsidian Studio Design Director Josh Sawyer has hinted that the developer could make an appearance at Xbox and Bethesda’s upcoming showcase.

Oops, did someone babble on?

Just yesterday, Sawyer shared a tweet from the official Xbox account about the June 12th showcase and commented on it with the word “anyway”, which in this context could mean “don’t care”, “well” or “anyway”, and an emoji painting its nails.

Typically, the emoji is used when someone wants to say something but somehow can’t. All very vague, I know, but reading between the lines here, it can hardly mean anything else. Sawyer is unlikely to paint his nails to sit prettied up in front of the Xbox stream. Or paint your fingers brightly out of boredom.

In any case, the studio would have something to show, because Obsidian currently has three games in development. These include the Early Access game Grounded, The Outer Worlds 2, and Avowed. The latter title probably has the best chance of being shown at a possible appearance, since it contains the most details about the fantasy role-playing game so far.

If you’re interested in watching the event live from Xbox and Bethesda, you can do so on June 12 at 7:00 p.m. on YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook.
