Surviving the Aftermath: New Alliances unites the wasteland. The first expansion will be available together with the Forgotten Tracks Radio Pack on June 16, 2022.

Paradox Interactive and Iceflake Studios today announced the first expansion to the survival colony-building game, Suriving the Aftermath, is now available. New Alliances allows players to form a post-apocalyptic federation, uniting the societies of the Wasteland and offering security and resources to others. New Alliances will be available on PC for a suggested retail price of €14.99. At the same time, the Forgotten Tracks Radio Pack will also be available for EUR 3.99 (RRP).

With Surviving the Aftermath: New Alliances the players’ options for action extend beyond the borders of their own settlement and can thus also influence other societies in the wasteland. New Alliances expands the world map where beasts and bandits can react to decisions or even take over strategic locations.

Interacting with corporations is more effective, allowing players to unite colonies under their banner. In order to unite colonies, players must maintain their own reputation, otherwise they risk creating even more rivals to fight against. Specialists can go on covert missions, influencing the world through sabotage, theft, espionage and propaganda. However, the risks of these actions must always be considered, as failure could have devastating consequences.

“New Alliances allows us to delve deeper into the dynamic world map and allows our players to be more creative in how they interact with other societies. This is a major milestone for Surviving the Aftermath, going beyond the colony and bringing more strategic depth to the wasteland,” said Lasse Liljedahl, Surviving the Aftermath game director. “We continue to listen to our players to further improve the way Surviving the Aftermath is played with more features and expanding game mechanics. Our community is absolutely vital to the development of Surviving the Aftermath, and New Alliances is delivering the features our players have been eagerly awaiting.”

Surviving the Aftermath: New Alliances Key Features:

  • Together we are strong: Players meet different societies and support them in their demands to win their loyalty and improve their own colonies with more than 12 new buildings. Positive interactions with other societies increase player reputation. However, if they don’t live up to their expectations, they will join their new rival, who will then gain more control over the wasteland.
  • New enemies in a dynamic world map: bandits and beasts roam the wasteland, requiring protection for the settlement and allied settlements. Bandit groups terrorize survivors and take over key locations. Players must take care to defend and support other societies by trading and constructing new buildings whenever possible. An extension of the user interface makes it possible to manage every single step to unify the wasteland.
  • Covert Missions: Creating a new world isn’t always easy. While collaboration is important, leaders can also influence society in more subtle ways. Sabotage, theft, espionage, and even propaganda become important tools in the arsenal, and the skills of specialists affect the likelihood of their mission succeeding. Don’t forget the consequences: failure will tarnish players’ reputations and give their competitor more control, which may result in retaliation from the targeted corporations.

In addition to the New Alliances expansion, June 16 will see the all-new Forgotten Tracks Radio Pack will appear, containing two playlists that can be heard via the in-game radio. The extension will be available at a suggested retail price of EUR 3.99.

  • Easy Raider Playlist: Players explore the wasteland, gather resources and fight enemies to rocking sounds! The Easy Raider Playlist with 10 tracks and more than 30 minutes of music is every survivor’s dream playlist to survive in the post-apocalyptic world.
  • Radiant Heart Playlist: The sun sets on the horizon, the sound of an old guitar echoes around the settlement… This is the Survial tune. Players ponder their next move with the Radiant Heart Playlist, 8 tracks featuring the chants of the lost artists of the Wasteland.

Since launching last November, Iceflake has released three major free content updates that address player feedback and expand gameplay. Custom Matches have been added, allowing players to modify the world map, colonies, specialists and much more. Iceflake also introduced scenarios like Eternal Winter, which require players to think creatively about completing difficult challenges. Map seeds can now be selected in pre-game settings, allowing players to revisit the wasteland from a previous game or rebuild a previous colony.

Surviving the Aftemath first debuted in Epic Games Store Early Access and Xbox Game Preview during PDXCON in October 2019 and was released to Steam Early Access in October 2020. On November 1st, 2021, the game left Early Access and officially launched on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch with additional content and gameplay updates.

Throughout that time, Iceflake and Paradox have incorporated player feedback into over 20 major content updates. Features were delivered that expand the world map and colony system, improve combat and introduce additional end-game content that explains the origin of the apocalypse.
