Kick-off 2022: Gameplay trailer shortens the summer break

The Bundesliga recently went on summer break. Nevertheless, the topic of football remains present, not least also virtually in the form of a gameplay trailer for Anstoss 2022. This shows what tasks aspiring football managers have to do in order to lead their club to the top of the table. Like the original series, which came to an end for the time being many years ago, the focus is not only on training, transfers and tactics.

According to the developer, you are also a trainer, manager, sports director and club boss in one person. So you also take care of the youth work, scouting, club premises, finances and much more. The player is free to plan and enjoy his gaming experience as usual down to the smallest detail over the course of days – or to play an entire season in one afternoon.

On the features side, the developer mentions, among other things, a tactics engine that combines classic gameplay with the latest developments, methods and rule changes in modern football – including VAR. A new heatmap is designed to help football fans analyze teams and players. They also emphasize the importance of scouting and data analysis for the success of their team.

Footballers are personalities, so every player should have dozens of skills and personality traits that influence their development and style of play. With their talent trees, trainer and manager skills offer more decision-making and specialization options.

In the new multiplayer mode you can gamble online with up to eight managers, whereby you can create your own games via a lobby or join them. You can now compete online with friends. The new user interface is modern, clear and efficient. It is also said that the “popular Pallino” offers a new generation of young managers numerous playing aids “to familiarize themselves with the demands of being a football manager.”

The developers recently granted Kickstarter supporters access to a playable version: The feedback gained from this is currently being incorporated into further development. Meanwhile, Steam also has a product page ready for kick-off 2022, where the football manager can at least be added to the wish list. However, there is no official release date or an asking price.
