The cat is out of the bag: Street Fighter 6 will be released worldwide in 2023 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.

As we previously reported, Street Fighter 6 will be released worldwide in 2023 and represents the next evolution of the Street Fighter series, which has sold more than 47 million units since its debut 35 years ago. Capcom has now revealed more official details.

Street Fighter 6 uses Capcom’s proprietary RE engine and includes three different game modes including Fighting Ground, World Tour and Battle Hub.

There are also innovative new gameplay features and improved graphics for every aspect of the game. With more ways to play than ever before, Street Fighter 6 has something for everyone – fans new and old alike – and is ready to take on all challengers when it launches for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC comes.

Street Fighter 6 delivers a combo of unique fighting game innovations, including:

  • Brand new game modes: That Street Fighter-Franchise continues to hone its skills and redefine the fighting genre with the introduction of three new core modes – Fighting Ground, World Tour and Battle Hub.
  • In-Game Comments: The real-time commentary feature brings the voices of popular Fighting Game Community (FGC) commentators like Jeremy “Vicious” Lopez and Ryutaro “Aru” Noda right into the game. Players will have a choice of different stars commenting directly on the battles with easy-to-understand gameplay explanations. The feature will also support subtitles in 13 languages ​​for better accessibility.
  • New control options: Classic controls are back, along with a new option. The modern controls allow players to jump directly into the action with simplified inputs. This makes special attacks easier to perform, as you only need to press an action button and perform a directional input.
  • New core combat mechanics: street fighter 6 introduces the Drive System, a new gauge for executing five specific techniques to expand a player’s offensive or defensive options, namely: Drive Impact, Drive Parry, Overdrive Art, Drive Rush and Drive Reversal.

In addition to new gameplay innovations, Street Fighter 6 celebrates what fans love most about the series by bringing modes from previous installments such as Arcade Mode, Online Matches, Training Mode, Local Versus Fights and more into the Fighting Ground experience united.

From iconic World Warriors like Ryu and Chun-Li, to the latest addition to the Street Fighter V-Rosters, Luke, to new breakdance expert Jamie, players will have a wide variety of fighting styles and skills to master.

Capcom looks forward to announcing more about the additional Challengers that will be added to the playable character roster later this year.

Capcom will announce more World Tour and Battle Hub updates closer to the release of Street Fighter 6. For starters, they’re just revealing that World Tour is an immersive single-player story mode that pushes the boundaries that define a fighting game and allows players to leave their own legacy with their player avatar.
