The last words of the lives of many great men and women in history have been handed down. For example, when Julius Caesar was stabbed to death on March 15, 44 BC, he must have looked pretty stupid – because his close friend Brutus was in league with the assassins.
The astonished “You too, my son?” of the famous Roman general and regent went down in history and became a dictum. The last words of famous artists, criminals or soldiers have also been handed down as a legacy of the dying to posterity.

But sometimes even famous personalities make fundamental mistakes here. As with Frederick II, the Great, whose last words after a long illness were: “It’s fine, the mountain has been crossed.” Which, however, was also correct in a certain sense…

Admittedly, the last words of the World of Warcraft characters (buy now ) are of little historical importance. Pixel deaths just don’t have as wide an impact as the assassination of a Roman emperor or the death of “Old Fritz”.

Although it may often seem to the player that the fall of the Roman Empire is a no brainer compared to raid boss XYZ’s fifteenth consecutive wipe. Still, we feel that many of the last words of Azeroth’s virtual heroes are worthy of lore – so we can at least have something to giggle about or learn from the mistakes of others.

Not infrequently, virtual life in World of Warcraft ends as a result of a colossal misjudgment, you probably know this from your own experience and not just from Frederick the Great. Carelessness, drowsiness or real life in front of the screen that gets in your way – you’ve all experienced it enough.

All these events elicit sayings from us: some sound surprised, some resigned. But they all have one thing in common: they are always the last words before the spiritual healer. And one has to admit that some of the surprised exclamations are not without a certain comedy, despite all the tragedy of the death. Many a saying has become a sure-fire success and always makes us laugh, even if the whole raid has just fallen on the pixel nose…
