Diablo Immortal: Players annoyed about character binding of items

from Benjamin Grundken
Diablo Immortal has landed on mobile systems and as a beta on PC. In particular, monetization is met with little approval. There is now resistance on the web to the fact that cosmetic items are tied to characters and servers.

Diablo Immortal is well received by Android and iOS users on average. PC users who are currently only given a beta version are more concerned. The result may not be final, but it bothers players immensely when a series that is enormously popular on the PC lacks setting options and familiar game mechanics. Another excitement is the monetization of the free-2-play title. Resistance is currently forming on the Internet against a very special aspect.

Now, cosmetic items aren’t exactly cheap. But good, some players will think, in the end I can wear it in different runs and put the costs into perspective. At the point teaches a Diablo Immortal unfortunately a better one: Because the purchased cosmetic items are bound to the character. This means that players who like to try their hand at different classes will have to dress up their character from scratch every time they value purchasable items. If you play the same class but on a different server, the restriction also applies. The Battle Pass also sometimes only provides rewards for one character.

Players who are annoyed by this regulation are now increasingly trying to make themselves heard on Reddit. So calls for “XIV-Questions”: “Cosmetics, frames, battle pass rewards and event goodies must be accunt/server-wide. They must not be tied to a single character on a single server. This destroys the flexibility and fun of the game.” Above all, undecided players who try out different classes before committing to one are affected.

Of course, players can only hope that Blizzard will understand. The developer or its publisher could ultimately argue that Diablo Immortal has no obligation to buy on board. On the other hand, there are enough examples where publishers had an understanding after receiving unpleasant feedback. Against this background, the restriction that you can no longer change servers once a character has been created may also be dropped one day. If you switch to another one, you have to start from scratch. Even the Battle Pass players have to purchase again.
