ESO – High Isle: This is how you can unlock the 2 other companions

The MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online receives the High Isle expansion on June 6th, 2002. This expands the companion system by two more NPCs. MeinMMO tells you what you have to do to unlock the two new companions.

What are companions in ESO, anyway? The companions in ESO are NPCs (english: non-player character) that you can summon as allies in battle. So they support you in your travels through all areas of Tamriel. However, in PvE group content such as dungeons and trials, they take the place of a player. So pay attention there whether you call your companion or not.

If you are looking for more players in vain, you can fill up the group with the companions of each group member. In PvP content and solo arenas, however, the NPC companions have no place and cannot fight at your side there.

Similar to in Elder Scrolls V – Skyrim, you can give equipment to your companions. You will find the right equipment under an extra menu item in your inventory. You can also dress up and customize them to suit your taste. You are even free to choose your companion’s mount.

The personality of the companions is also interesting. Because your actions actually have an impact on the relationship between you and the respective companion. Through a good relationship you can unlock new dialogue options. Therefore, pay close attention to when you call your companion. Because equally, a bad relationship between you has some downsides.

How to unlock the High Isle companions in ESO?

First of all you need access to the new chapter High Isle. When buying, you should make sure that you choose the right version. In some cases, these differ considerably in price. If you already own the base game, all you need is an update.

You can also choose between a regular and the collectors edition. This is not a must, but could be very interesting for lovers of cosmetics and knick-knacks.

Once that is done and you have fulfilled this requirement, you can start your game. First you need the quest that ultimately unlocks a companion. After completing the quests, you can find and summon the companions in your collection (U) under Allies → Companions.

What companions were previously in ESO?

In principle, the companion system is not a new feature. However, there are two NPCs in the High Isle chapter that you haven’t been able to get to know before. In the big ESO chapter Blackwood of 2021 you could already unlock Bastian & Mirri as your loyal allies.

What companions are new to ESO High Isle?

Isobel Veloise – A would-be knight with Breton roots who firmly believes that righteousness is her destiny. From an early age, she manifested the will to join a knightly order. She is characterized by her clumsy and yet (or perhaps because of that) lovable character.

In her role as a knight, she is also considered brilliant and can absolutely convince with her skills for her vocation. It is very important to her to protect the weak and thus to honor the knightly values that she developed in her earliest childhood.

She represents these values both fearlessly and resolutely, as well as with her friendly nature. She can also loosen up the seriousness of her beliefs with her jocular side. Sometimes, however, she gropes a step too far, which is a tiny blemish on this special personality.

Respected and influential characters on the High Isle are already calling her a heroine. They are confident that the ambitious knight will make a name for herself in Tamriel.

spark – A Khajiit who struggled on the streets as a child. It was in the process that she developed her passion and already exaggerated enthusiasm for magic. Her character shows slight tendencies towards the extreme, so chaos and a penchant for little problems are not long in coming.

A notable troublemaker. And yet she makes room in the history of her fellow human beings, because she is so unique in her way that she can almost petrify even experienced and established personalities with astonishment.

Material things don’t have much value in their lives. She rushes from one adventure to another and never has large possessions. What drives her is her impulsiveness to make decisions, which at the same time constantly fuels the fire for magic in her.

But just as their distinctive temperament enhances their remarkable talent for magical work, that same spark sometimes travels to rule-breaking. So, no matter how fascinated you are by their uniqueness, you should always keep an eye on them.

It can be compared to a hurricane: unbeatable in its strength and energy, but almost impossible to tame. It’s just as important to bring a character like Funke on an orderly path so that she can fully use her potential.

What quest unlocks the High Isle companions and where to find them?

The quests for the two new companions are located in the area of High Island and Amenos.

Isobel Veloise – Your quest The tournament of the heart can be found on the tournament ground of the Navire Castle. The castle is located in the north-east of the high island, right next to the wayshrine of Castle Navire.
spark ※ The quest to earn the allegiance of the wild Khajiit is called A tower of trouble. You can start them by going to the Draioch Gate. After crossing a bridge south of it, you’ll run straight into Funke’s arms. You just have to address them.
