GoldenEye 007: Xbox release of the classic could be imminent
In recent months there have been repeated indications of a possible one GoldenEye 007 Xbox port given, the release of which could perhaps take place in the next few days. At the beginning of the year, a list of achievements related to the legendary N64 shooter appeared on the website TrueAchievements on. Also this week, fans found out that one of Rare’s developers unlocked some of these achievements.
New Notes on GoldenEye 007’s Xbox Port
Another leak should now more or less confirm that a reissue from GoldenEye 007 is on the way. Accordingly, the list of achievements for the game was also on the Official Xbox website discovered. Twitter user Wario64 shared some screenshots. On June 12, 2022, Microsoft will Xbox + Bethesda Games Showcase organize – there may be initial information about the port of the classic here.
GoldenEye remake was already in development
Microsoft and Rare previously worked on a remaster of GoldenEye 007 for Xbox 360 in 2007. The project was probably almost finished – but then had to be put on hold due to some licensing problems. At the end of August, the game is now celebrating its 25th birthday. Incidentally, the title was never officially released in this country. This was due to the indexing by the then BPjS, which in October 2021 but was rescinded.
What is Microsoft showing at the Xbox Showcase?
As already mentioned, Microsoft will, as part of the Xbox + Bethesda Games Showcase give a preview of the upcoming games for Xbox Series X/S and PC. So far, however, no specific games have been mentioned in detail that we will see in the presentation. However, potential contenders include titles such as Starfield, Fable, Forza Motorsport, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and more. Xbox partners are also part of the event on June 12, 2022.
