If you’re unlucky, you can’t play GTA Online on PS4 right now – that’s what’s behind it

I’m sure you all know it: you come home after a hard day at work or school and you just want to play a few hours of your favorite game and relax. But before you even get into the game, you get a message that a connection to the servers is not possible. This issue is also currently plaguing some hapless GTA players who are unable to join GTA Online. MeinMMO shows you what’s behind it.

Why can’t you play GTA Online with bad luck? According to the American online magazine Dexerto.com, there are currently reports of a bug in GTA Online that prevents the popular multiplayer from playing.

When trying to connect to the Rockstar services, the message appears that a connection is not possible. The Reddit user affected by the error u/Comprehensive-Safe83 (via Reddit.com) reported on the GTA Online subreddit that the problem has been occurring since patch 1.42.

Patch 1.42 was released on May 17, 2022 and brought some fixes for existing bugs and problems. Ironically, it also fixed an issue that was causing players to get stuck on the Rockstar logo screen upon launching the game. (GTA Online Patch Notes via updatecrazy.com)

The current problem is not to be confused with the infinite loading screen error that has been known to GTA Online players for years. Who is affected? As the online magazine Dexerto.com reports, the reports about the problem come from players who play GTA Online on PS4. It appears that this is the only affected platform and players on the others have been spared the issue.

It is currently unclear with what frequency the problem occurs. It is quite possible that you can play without problems. But if you’re unlucky, you won’t be able to join the world of GTA Online.

Is there a solution to the problem? If you are suffering from the issue of being unable to connect to Rockstar services since patch 1.42, there is no reliable solution to the problem.

However, the well-known remedy is said to have helped again: Switching the game off and on again.
