Pokémon GO brings additional raid hours at an unusual time – players are demanding free raid passes

Pokemon Go Kyogre

In Pokémon GO there will be an additional raid hour on Friday. We at MeinMMO tell you what the reason for the short event is, which monster awaits you in the raids and who can take part.

What is a raid hour? During the raid hour, level 5 raids take place in almost all arenas for 60 minutes. This gives you the opportunity to complete several of them in a row. Normally this short event is every Wednesday from 18:00 to 19:00 local time.

On Friday, June 10th, there will now be an additional raid hour in the form of a replacement event.

Why is there a replacement event? On June 1st, 2022, the raid hour with Kyogre should take place as usual. However, there were massive problems in the game in some time zones. As a result, many trainers were unable to properly interact with the arenas and received “network errors”.

Anyone who finally made it into a raid complained about numerous bugs, so that catching the coveted monster by crashing the game was ultimately not possible for everyone.

After the server problems were fixed, Niantic already announced a replacement event for the affected players. We have summarized all the information about the replacement event below.

All information about the replacement raid hour with Kyogre

When is the replacement raid hour? The replacement event will run on Friday, June 10, 2022. You will again have the opportunity to face off against the raid boss of the level 5 raids between 18:00 and 19:00 local time.

Who can use the spare raid hour? As Pokémon GO announced via Twitter on the evening of June 7th, the replacement event will only be provided in the affected time zones. Accordingly, the time zones GMT +14 to GMT +2 had problems with the raid hour last week, which is why only these are compensated.

Since Germany is in the GMT +2 time zone due to summer time, you can benefit from the repetition of the raid hour.

Which raid boss will there be? Currently, you usually meet the legendary Ground-type Pokémon Groudon in the level 5 raids. However, since this raid hour is a replacement event, you can meet the legendary water Pokémon Kyogre again during this time.

how strong is it It scores particularly well with high attack, stamina and defense values. With his cascade and surfer moveset, Kyogre also deals a lot of damage to the opponent. This makes it one of the best water attackers in Pokémon GO.

Players lost their Raid Passes, now requesting free ones as a replacement

What are the trainers saying about the replacement raid lesson with Kyogre? There was a lot of criticism on the social networks immediately after the server problems. And this has not changed even after the details of the upcoming raid hour were announced on Friday.

Above all, the wasted raid passes play a central role, but the exclusion of other time zones from this event is also a big issue for some trainers. That’s how you can on reddit find the following comments:

  • Zekro: “Are we getting free raid passes too?”.
  • TheRealHankWolfman: “For some reason they kicked us out even though we were struggling during our raid lesson.”
  • Matty8520: “I’m in the GMT +2 time zone, but during the Kyogre Raid hour only one invite out of the 30 I sent had problems. So I’m assuming the issues were mostly resolved by then, and likely that’s what Niantic gave as the reason. There may still be issues up until GMT +1, but honestly, Niantic should just be holding a global raid hour.”

It remains to be seen whether Ninatic will expand the event to other time zones and whether there will be additional raid passes as compensation. If there is any new information about this, you will find it here on MeinMMO.

What do you think of the replacement event due to the server issues? Did you wish for a different compensation? And will you use the raid hour with Kyogre? Let us know in the comments.
