Oops, PlayStation apparently leaked the Last of Us remake for PS5 itself

There has been speculation about a remake of the PlayStation hit The Last of Us for quite some time. It was only in May that rumors circulated that the game was supposed to be released in 2022, and the existence of the title had already been confirmed by several sources.

A Last of remake has not yet been officially announced, but it probably won’t take too long now. Because pictures of the game’s packaging have appeared on the PlayStation Direct page, which, at least at first glance, look pretty realistic.

Remake should be called The Last of Us Part 1

These are two product entries. Once for “The Last of Us Part 1” and once for the Firefly Edition of the same, so probably a special edition with various bonuses. Both are listed for the PS5. So it looks like PlayStation itself leaked the game that most knew was coming anyway.

The title already suggests it: The Last of Us remake brings the first part in line with the sequel and will probably adjust some details in the story so that part 2 can then connect properly.

Reveal at Summer Game Fest?

Of course, there is a possibility that the pictures are well-made fakes. Since there have already been several indications of the development of the remake in recent years and months, it can be assumed that this is the “real deal”.

Of course the question remains, when the Last of Us remake could be officially announced. There was only a State of Play last week, but the Summer Game Fest 2022 is imminent.
