WoW: Interface windows, as many and where you want – thanks to the addon
Before Blizzard completely overhauls the interface with Dragonflight, there are a lot of weak points in the UI that players try to improve with addons. DeModal is one such addon, which allows you to have multiple windows open at the same time and adjust their position individually.
In most cases, the standard WoW interface is quite usable and well equipped. However, there are some situations when the UI reaches its limits. One of those limitations is the amount of windows you can have open at one time. Depending on the size of the window, it is not possible to view more than two or three of them at the same time. Adventure guide and character window are possible at about the same time, but as soon as you want to open a third window (e.g. the guild window or the group search), one of the previous windows automatically closes again – although there would actually be enough space on the screen.
This problem apparently bothered the user Nezroy so much that he developed a small addon to counteract it. The addon DeModal not only allows you to have an unlimited number of windows of the original interface open at the same time, you can also move the individual windows as you wish. It is particularly interesting that this positioning is saved. So you can assign a certain position to the windows and your window will always appear at this position.
It offers some advantages over the previous addons like BlizzMove, where you can only change the position, but are still subject to the limitation of open windows. You will find the addon that is available for both WoW (buy now ) Retail as well as for BC Classic, on the usual channels such as Curseforge or GitHub. Or you can download it further up in the article.
