Hollow Knight: Silksong: Will appear in Game Pass at launch

Hollow Knight: Silksong (Plattformer) von Team Cherry

As part of the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, the developers from Team Cherry showed new game scenes from the action-adventure game Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Yes, she’s still alive

The latest part with the more agile main character “Hornet” was announced in 2019. Since the big cover story of Edge Magazine in January 2021 (we reported), there has been no further information on the status of development. Although there was finally a sign of life again thanks to the new game scenes, an exact release date has not yet been revealed.

It is certain that all games presented at the showcase should appear in the next twelve months. Hollow Knight: Silksong will be released on PC, Xbox consoles and cloud by June 2023 at the latest. So far, only one release for PC and Switch was known. Like most of the games shown, the action-adventure will also be included in the Game Pass when it is released.

Higher, faster, more agile

In Hollow Knight: Silksong you control Hornet. The “Hornet” can move faster, jump higher, use wall jumps and climb ledges compared to the main character Knight from the predecessor Hollow Knight. Their movement speed and the new region “Pharloom” also require that the enemies become smarter and faster.

Enemies in Silksong can no longer be tricked into falling off platforms. You can track and counter Hornet better than any other Hollow Knight opponent. They also do comparatively much damage when they hit. However, Hornet can heal herself using silk she collects from enemies.

Overall, the feeling of combat will change and should represent an additional challenge. Team Cherry’s Ari Gibson explained, “You spend more time being either in full health or almost dead – and the gameplay kind of jumps back and forth between those two states.”
