Botter in Lost Ark shows how powerless Amazon is – Play 100 accounts at the same time

Was meint ihr: Ist das neue MMORPG Lost Ark Pay2Win?

Lost Ark players are currently suffering from a massive bot flood. Amazon emphasizes that they are trying to get this problem under control. Meanwhile, a user on reddit is filming botting on multiple PCs at the same time.

“They are not afraid to block IPs,” uses the user OutTheory as a headline to provoke Amazon with a video. It features at least seven PCs, each running Lost Ark 16 times. OutTheory doesn’t seem afraid of the consequences. However, he does not show his face.

What are these bots? The bots farm ingame gold to then sell it to players for real money. The whole thing is called Real Money Trading, or RMT for short. Currently there are so many of them that real players are even stuck in queues to log in.

In the meantime, the automated characters no longer only run around in the low-level areas, as they did with the release of Lost Ark. The bots have arrived in the endgame and are influencing the economy there. Several million gold are currently in the hands of the bots and are for sale for real money.

Player satisfaction keeps dropping, which is visible in recent ratings on Steam. Overall, the MMORPG now only achieves the rating “balanced”.

Amazon’s fight against the bots seems hopeless

What is Amazon doing about it? When Lost Ark was released, it looked as if Amazon would get the bots under control. They banned over a million of them straight away in one day. However, the current bot wave seems to cause major problems for the publisher.

The publisher wants to fight the bots “on several fronts”. Not only the bots are threatened with a ban, but also players who buy gold from them. Some of the bans are permanent, but many are temporarily limited to three days. Remove the purchased gold from the account.

In addition, Amazon tries to stop the bots by blocking IP addresses. They are not very successful at this, as the botters can simply use VPN clients to encrypt their own IP.

The 5 reasons for the incredible success of Lost Ark

Community thinks the game is lost: In the comment column on reddit, numerous users make fun of the publisher. Others are frustrated. Many consider Lost Ark lost and see Amazon unable to fight the flood of bots.

  • redbombs says: “This is crazy. They’re not even afraid to show it because they know nothing’s going to happen.”
  • anitime1 says: “The profit for them is too high. It will never stop.”
  • defusingkittens says, “They won’t stop until the game dies. Then the players who financed this will wonder why their beautiful game is dead. That’s what happened with New World too.”
  • k1ng0fk1ngz says, “Imagine you’re stuck in the early 2000s and think IP bans can really stop bots. Funny how AGS really thinks they are doing a good job.”

What do you think about the bot problem in Lost Ark? Does the responsibility lie with the players, or with the publisher himself? Can the game still be saved, or is it threatened with death in the near future? Write it to us in the comments here on MeinMMO!

But there is also good news for active players in Lost Ark. In June there will be a new patch with a new class:
