FIFA 22 lands on EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate next week

Next week, the latest part of EA’s well-known football simulation series will come to EA Play: From June 23, FIFA 22 will be available in the Electronic Arts subscription service and thus also in the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

So far there was only the possibility to try out the latest FIFA part for free for 10 hours, but next Thursday this test version will be replaced by the entire game replaced. Through the collaboration between Game Pass and EA Play that started last year, FIFA 22 will then be available on both services.

The football simulation completes all other EA sports games of the last year, because Madden NFL 22, NHL 22 and F1 2021 from 2021 were already included in the subscription.

Last month, FIFA 22 cross-play online multiplayer entered testing. So far, this variant of the football game is only available for Xbox Series, PS5 and Stadia in the selected “Online Seasons” and “Online Friendlies” modes. For example, FIFA Ultimate Team, the legally controversial game mode in which you put together your own team, is not supported.

The FIFA brand will probably change a bit in the future, because then this term will no longer belong to EA. Instead, the Football Association has teamed up with new partners to continue bringing virtual turf sports to market. There are probably already plans to include the FIFA 23 World Cup for women and men.

Electronic Arts continues without the well-known brand name and wants to continue producing football simulations in the future, but then under the name EA Sports Football Club.
