The next generation of be quiets! Silent fans are in the starting blocks. With the Silent Wings (Pro), the manufacturer has presented 4 new models that are supposed to impress with an even higher rotational speed and an onboard switch for RPM limitation.

According to be quiet!, the focus of the new fans compared to the previous model should be. on stronger performance, especially of the radiators and a low noise profile. Depending on the model, up to 3000 RPM (rotations per minute) should be possible.

When it comes to materials, be quiet! decided to use PBT plastic and 30 percent fiberglass. According to the manufacturer, there shouldn’t be any noticeable signs of wear, even after years at maximum RPM.

The 6-pole fan motors and the “Fluid-dynamic” liquid bearings are carried over from the previous model for long service life (up to 300,000 hours according to the data sheet) and quiet operation. The reduced tip clearance of 1 mm is new. The fans and fan blades are now even closer together, which should ensure better airflow.

The speed switch in the center of the fan is reserved for the Pro version of the Silent Wings 4. This can be used to throttle the maximum RPM number during installation, but theoretically also later during operation, without having to control it via the BIOS. This should make fan profiles more accessible for newcomers and occasional users. There are three levels to choose from: Medium with up to 1600 RPM with 120 mm fans and up to 1100 RPM with 140 mm fans, High-Speed (max. 2500/1900 RPM) and Ultra-High-Speed (max. 3000/2400RPM).
