Aldi Gaming PCs: New offers from 799 euros sighted - that's in it

from Maximilian Hohm
From June 30th, the discounter Aldi will be offering a new batch of gaming PCs that can be a decent alternative for those who don’t dare to assemble a computer themselves. This time there are two new systems that should appeal to the masses of players with prices of €799 and €1,899.

The entry point is the Erazor Core Gaming Recon E10. With an Intel Core i5-12400, this designation hides a quite powerful hexa-core CPU, which only lacks the E-Cores, which are not particularly important in the desktop area, in comparison to larger models. It is combined with 16 GiB of DDR4 memory clocked at 3200 MHz, which is perfectly reasonable for this price range.

In addition, buyers will receive a 512 GB PCI-E SSD, which will probably use PCI-E 3.0. A Geforce GTX 1650 with 4 GiB GDDR5 memory is installed as the graphics card, which is sufficient for simpler and older titles. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed on the PC and WiFi 6 is also on board. Unfortunately, further important information about the mainboard, power supply unit and cooling solution is missing, so that savings measures can be assumed here.

At €1,899, the Engineer X20 poaches in other price ranges and should therefore offer significantly more performance and equipment. It is equipped with a fast Intel Core i7-12700, which again has to be placed on an unknown mainboard. It is combined with 16 GiB Kingston Fury RGB at 3,200 MHz, which is unacceptable in this price range. Cooling is provided by a Coolermaster ML120-AIO and a 2 TB NVMe SSD is installed here. A Geforce RTX 3070 LHR with 8 GiB video memory takes care of the graphics output.

Windows 11 is pre-installed and everything is packaged in an InWin 101. Both computers come with a mouse and keyboard. Compared to other offers from Medion, however, important components such as SSDs, mainboards and power supplies are not specified in more detail, which is why you should distance yourself from the computers.
