Dragon’s Dogma: No FPS boost for Xbox Series X|S anytime soon

For the foreseeable future, Dragon’s Dogma will not receive an FPS boost on Xbox Series X|S consoles.

With the FPS Boost on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles, older games can benefit from a higher framerate, going beyond the original rate at the time of release.

With the recent announcement of Dragon’s Dogma 2, the question arose as to whether the first installment in the series, released on Xbox 360 at the time, couldn’t get the FPS treatment as well.

Jason Ronald from the Xbox team was able to answer this question directly, albeit not positively. Apparently there were problems qualifying the game for the boost.

Ronalds answered according to: “The team studied Dragon’s Dogma when we were working on FPS Boost. There were some unwanted side effects that resulted in it not being able to qualify for the program.”

Where exactly the problem lay cannot be clarified. But for now, don’t get your hopes up about being able to play the game with a boost in FPS numbers.
