Fortnite has one of the best stories, but unfortunately hardly anyone gets it

Fortnite Geno Reality Battle

One of the best and most dramatic stories exists in Fortnite, but many Battle Royale players are unaware that one exists. Our MeinMMO author Christos Tsogos is therefore of the opinion that the story of the BR shooter deserves a separate mode.

What story is it about? In Fortnite, players are constantly forced to go into battle with the Battle Bus. Chased by the corrosive storm, players must win the battle royale match to survive. If you win, you’ll return to the same battlefield to fight opponents and storms.

But this is not a coincidence or just because of the “Battle Royal” mechanics. In fact, this perpetual cycle is controlled by the power of a mysterious being in Fortnite.

You are being held in a time loop by the being Geno, allowing him to absorb and harness the power of the Zero Point. The Zero Point offers him the power to dive into different realities in order to be able to subjugate everything and everyone.

But a squad of free warriors, the Seven, have made it their mission to save every reality and liberate Zero from Geno’s clutches.

Geno cannot enter combat himself. That’s why he sends his underground organization, the IO, to the front as a representative. They eliminate anything and everyone who might get in the way of Geno’s plan.

But despite the profound story that has been going on for years, hardly anyone knows what is happening in the narrative. Many end-of-season live events are celebrated, but not everyone understands why it happened.

Captivating story, but nobody notices it in the battle royal

There has been a continuous story in Fortnite since Chapter 1, which has continued through to Chapter 3. Epic Games has spared no effort creating and customizing Battle Passes and live events around the story.

But not every player notices that there is a profound story behind the wild Battle Royal shooter. If you are in Battle Royale, there are only a few clues about what is happening in the background.

The villain behind the time warp – Geno

Why does Fortnite have one of the best stories? The story in Fortnite Battle Royale has everything your heart desires – suspense, drama, comedy, action and a mysterious villain. Guest appearances ensure laughs and unforgettable moments when characters like Spider-Man or The Rock stop by.

Despite the colorful setting, the story also seems dark and captivating. You want to know who is behind the time warp, how to stop it and if good can finally triumph over evil. So it’s a pity that such a story is only told in passing.

How can Epic Games change that? Fortnite’s battle royale is among some of the best out there, but it’s not built for storytelling. To offer players a better platform, a new, separate mode would be an interesting solution.

A PvE mode like Save the World. However, this should not have a focus on zombies, but rather retell the story of chapters 1 – 3 and put it in context with the current events in the game.

Cool and varied missions in the fight against the IO or even boss fights could keep players busy in the long run.

Older cosmetics from the respective story phase are offered as a reward so that players can chase them. Previous live events could continue to take place on the Battle Royale map.

This allows Fortnite fans to experience the story in one piece without having to trawl the internet to collect and piece together story scraps. Many players would welcome that, as the story in the current BR mode seems mostly opaque.

What do you think of the story in Fortnite? Do you also think it’s a shame that Epic Games doesn’t pass the narration directly to you and that new players can’t experience it? Should Epic Games create a separate mode in which you can experience the exciting story yourself in one piece? Let us know in the comments!
