Three cheat providers have to pay Bungie $13.5 million as a result of an out-of-court settlement.

Bungie has managed to achieve great success in its long-standing fight against cheaters in Destiny 2, in which the company has repeatedly taken legal action against cheat providers.

After the company sued the three cheat providers Veterancheats, LaviCheats and Elite Boss Tech in August for various copyright violations in connection with extortion, fraud, money laundering and several violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, an out-of-court settlement has now been reached .

The defendants admit their guilt regarding the intentional creation and distribution of the cheats and pay Bungie a total of 13.5 million US dollars in damages.

This total is calculated from 6,700 downloads of the cheat software, with each download being classified as a single Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) violation and each being subject to a $2,000 fine.
