Star Wars KOTOR 2: Aspyr apologizes for switch bug
Star Wars KOTOR 2 aka “Star Wars: Knights of the Republic – The Sith Lords” was recently released for the Nintendo Switch, but cannot be played normally there at the moment. Developer Aspyr apologizes for the problem and promises a fix. When that will come, however, cannot be said.
Star Wars: Bug renders KOTOR 2 unplayable on Switch
What’s the matter? To the new Nintendo Switch version of the RPG classic Star Wars KOTOR 2. That stands for “Knights of the Republic 2” and it’s about one of the best Star Wars RPGsthat have ever been developed – even today. At least the original version is coming actually by Pillars of Eternity, Tyranny, Avowed, Outer Worlds and Fallout: New Vegas developer studio Obsidian.
Serious bug makes it unplayable: According to many fans on Reddit and Co, “Star Wars KOTOR 2” can currently on the Nintendo Switch but at all not be played to the end. Whenever Land players on Onderon want, it comes after the so-called basilisk crash-Cutscene to that Game just completely crashes.
Aspyr knows about it and promises fix, but doesn’t say when
Known problem: When asked by a person on Twitter, Aspyr responded by saying that it was is a known issue. The next patch will take care of that. Daniel Moore then digs deeper and gets the people behind the Nintendo Switch version to state that they know that Star Wars KOTOR 2 currently cannot be completed.
A corresponding Fix is in progress and will be rolled out as soon as possible. However, currently cannot be said exactly when the time will come. Which of course is particularly annoying for anyone who has already played Star Wars KOTOR 2 up to this point where the game keeps crashing. After all, it’s about halfway through the title.
Aspyr recommends bypassing the KOTOR 2 bug with cheats
Use this workaround? What can I do if my Star Wars KOTOR 2 keeps crashing on Switch? A workaround was recommended on Reddit, the Aspyr is now also official recommends on their own site. However there is also voices on the net that advise against itbecause it doesn’t work and would only lead to more crashes.
How it works: open this cheat menu in the game by her press the left stick in three times. Select the “Warp” function there and teleport to OND504. make sure not to go to the merchant districtbecause then your game crashes.
