A Plague Tale: Requiem: 12 minutes of exciting new game scenes

We’ve already heard a lot about the upcoming A Plague Tale: Requiem (from 59.99€ at pre-order) reported – but never seen so much action-adventure gameplay. Clear the stage for twelve exciting minutes with Amicia and Hugo.

I could now take you step by step through the twelve minutes of game scenes in the finest PS5 graphics, which manage almost without cuts and jumps – and show a few harmonious minutes from the French action-adventure hope. But of course you can also just watch the video yourself, it’s worth it. And I’m curious what you think of it…

How good will A Plague Tale: Requiem be?

Even A Plague Tale: Innocence was an all-round good game that surprised me in a positive way. But it was also: quite simple, very straightforward and at times shallow. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed suffering with Amicia and also enjoyed sneaking and light source snuffing. But despite the nice atmosphere: Of course it wasn’t (yet) a The Last of Us. Still, I’m really looking forward to Requiem, even after this unexpectedly detailed look at the game. The through-the-walls view makes sense when sneaking, the crossbow shooting looks decent and the locations make you want to go back to medieval France.

I’m still a bit worried about the behavior of the enemies: They don’t seem too bright to me and react very slowly to Amicia’s actions, still looking around stupidly, although the girl is already rushing towards them. The more action and Amicia’s “power moves” didn’t bother me, it still seems reasonably believable when she strangles enemies or rams the knife into their necks from behind. As you probably already know, A Plague Tale: Requiem will be released on October 18th for PC, PS4 and Xbox Series X|S, is part of Xbox Game Pass and also hops to the Switch as a cloud version.
