House of the Dragon: New poster for the Game of Thrones prequel

In just under two months the time has come: the long-awaited spin-off game of Thrones starts on August 21, 2022 at HBO and in this country in the night of August 22nd Wow and Sky Q. The first season of House of the Dragon includes 10 episodes.

To get in the mood for the prequel, a new promo poster released, which features Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (played by Emma D’Arcy) with dragons in the background.

What is House of the Dragon about?

The story is about 200 years before the events of GoT settled and based on George RR Martin’s novel “Fire & Blood”. The full German title “Fire and Blood – First Book: Rise and Fall of the House of Targaryen of Westeros” already reveals the plot in principle. the Ancestors of the dragon mother Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) are the focus.

After the death of King Viserys I Targaryen (Paddy Considine) a Power struggle for the seven kingdomssince it’s the same several contenders for the throne are. The central figures here are Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, her half-brother Aegon II Viserys (Tom Glynn-Carney) and the king’s brother, Prince Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith).

In particular, the alliances of the individual parties ensure that these intrigues eventually become one War flow, the as Dance of the Dragons goes down in the history of Westeros.
