Not having an answer can sometimes be interesting too. Dark Souls and Elden Ring creator Hidetaka Miyazaki made two interesting statements in a recent interview. First, the developer revealed that several other titles are currently in development – and one of them is almost finished. He also explained that he doesn’t know why Elden Ring is being played so much more than the development team’s previous titles.

Why is Elden Ring much more successful?

It’s all about this: Miyazaki made these statements to the Japanese magazine 4Gamer. When asked how the great success of Elden Rings, which is reflected in sales figures and social media presence, came about, the developer answered:

[…] Why did this happen this time? To be honest I don’t know. I think there are several points like the collaboration with George RR Martin and the improved sense of scale through the open world, but I haven’t gotten around to analyzing that in detail yet.
