gamescom 2022: Ubisoft confirms participation in the games fair

After the world’s largest trade fair for computer and video games took place in digital form in 2020 and 2021, the gamescom this year will again take place as usual on site in the exhibition halls of the Rhine metropolis of Cologne. How interesting the games fair will actually be for companies and visitors after two years of pandemic can only be speculated so far.

But the fact is that this year big publishers like NintendoActivision Blizzard, Sony, Take-Two Interactive and Wargaming will not participate. With Ubisoft, however, a major exhibitor at gamescom 2022 has now made an official commitment.

While other major publishers will only be conspicuous by their absence, Ubisoft, as the official partner of gamescom, would like to welcome fans to the halls of koelmesse this year and, after two years full of digital content, would like to make its own game worlds a physical experience again.

“The last two years have shown that our industry is able to create special moments with international appeal even in challenging times. Now, after two years full of exciting digital content and creative content creator concepts, we are happy to finally come back to Cologne,” says Ralf Wirsing, Managing Director Europe at Ubisoft.

“For Ubisoft, being close to the community and sharing ideas with our fans has always been a matter close to our hearts. gamescom is the epitome of discovering and experiencing new games together and we are therefore already looking forward to diving into our gaming worlds together with the fans again this year.”

It is also said that Ubisoft is currently working on a concept that will meet the local conditions and security precautions in terms of content and organization. “The well-being and safety of the fans, employees and partners always have top priority”according to the official press release.

gamescom 2022 will take place from Wednesday, August 24th to Sunday, August 28th, 2022 in Cologne and online.
