Live a Live: Demo version is coming to the eShop today

The HD 2D remake of Live a Live (from 49.99€ at pre-order) will be released for the Nintendo Switch next month. However, we should already be able to enjoy the demo version of the new SNES edition today.

The JRPG classic from Square (then Enix) from 1994 looks like a pioneer for Octopath Traveler, but didn’t make it to Europe at the time. As part of today’s Nintendo Direct Mini, we got a surprise: the Live A Live demo version lets us dive into the beginning of three different chapters of the game – Imperial China, Dawn of Edo Japan and The Far Future.

Live a Live: Demo lets you take over save data

If you don’t want to be given too much away before the release of Live A Live on July 22, it’s better not to take a look at the demo. However, if you can’t wait any longer, there is positive news: save data that you create in the demo can be transferred to the main game for the release.

In addition, Nintendo released one of its Treehouse videos in the afternoon, showing us a full 40 minutes of gameplay. There are two more chapters, the Wild West and the near future, because in Live A Live we jump back and forth between different eras on the timeline, while the individual stories can be gradually linked to one another.

Also on display: Live A Live composer Yoko Shimomura, who celebrated her beginnings in the industry with the original version of the title and later was responsible for the soundtracks of Kingdom Hearts, Street Fighter and Xenoblade Chronicles, among others.
